Position Summary

City Winery's Supervisor provides overall day to day support to the Operations management team and hourly staff. This role ensures daily operational excellence, overall guest satisfaction, and supervision of the FOH team. This role is involved in leading the service teams, actively participating in set up and breakdown of the Riverwalk space, maximizing food and beverage sales, handling pre-shift trainings, and a variety of other duties based on the needs of the business at Riverwalk. This is a seasonal position that requires open availability.

Minimum Qualifications

● Minimum 2 years experience in a multi-faced, high volume service environment, and/or equivalent relevant experience
● Exceptional hospitality skills
● Appreciation and general understanding of the music, food, and wine business
● Proven leadership skills and commitment to operational excellence
● Ability to successfully multi-task, delegate, and manage several tasks at once in fast paced environment
● Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
● Functional knowledge of health, safety and related regulations
● Ability to handle all guests with composure and hospitality
● Polished presentation
● Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
● Must be fluently literate in English including ability to read, write, communicate, conduct basic business related mathematics, and able to accurately function a POS
● Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays for duration of the seasonal business
● Ability to perform physical requirements of the role including standing/walking for entirety of shift, bending, pulling, pushing, using stairs, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds

Overview of Responsibilities

● Supervise day to day service operations, and provide on-the-floor support to staff for duration of a service shift including but not limited to assigning server sections, overseeing side work, observing steps of service, and maintaining overall cleanliness/tidiness of the restaurant.
● Ensure operation is fully set up, prepared, organized, and broken down properly
● Maintain cleanliness and safety of all work areas including but not limited to side stations, floor, shelves, storage areas
● Follow all health and safety regulations, including enforcing laws and ordinances in the handling and provision of alcoholic beverages.
● Handle and resolve guest concerns and complaints in a hospitable manner; communicate with GM as needed
● Advise GM of any guest issues that arise that need management communication or attention
● Ensure maintenance of property by examining areas daily for cleanliness and maintenance needs and reporting any needs to upper management where necessary
● Accurately perform all cash handling procedures: opening, mid-day safe counts, cash pay-outs and nightly cash drops, as needed
● Check in with guests during shift to ensure guest satisfaction, identify any opportunities, and resolve as able
● Assist with staff trainings both in daily pre-shifts and monthly FOH staff service meetings
● Maintain pars of all printed promotional materials, comment cards, or other check presenter inserts
● Assist in interviewing, hiring, and coaching process of hourly employees, as needed
● Attend trainings, tastings, meetings, as needed
● Other duties, initiatives, and tasks as per business need
