In-house Legal Advisor


Criterion Hospitality, a Central London based residential and commercial property company is seeking a qualified property solicitor to manage land and tenant issues.


Key Responsibilities:


Review and File Property Notices:

  • Review notices to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Verify that notices have been sent in accordance with permitted service methods.


Attend Hearings:

  • Prepare bundles for hearings, ensuring all necessary documents are gathered and organized.
  • Review all relevant correspondence and documents related to the case.


Respond to Legal Claims Relating to Property Matters:

  • Handle legal claims relating to properties, including drafting responses and representing the company's interests in negotiations or legal proceedings.


Provide Legal Advice:

  • Offer legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on various legal matters, including tenancy agreements, property disputes, and compliance issues.


Complete Letters Before Action:

  • Draft and issue letters before action in cases where legal action is necessary to resolve disputes or enforce contractual obligations.


Advise on Historic Debt Recovery:

  • Advise on strategies for recovering historic debts related to property rentals, including negotiating payment plans, issuing legal proceedings, and liaising with debt collection agencies if necessary.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified solicitor with 5 years’ experience in landlord-tenant work.
  • Strong knowledge of legal procedures, possession hearings, and bailiff applications.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing legal documents and correspondence.
